the restyling of Pre-loved jewellery

Do you own jewellery that has lain unworn, undisturbed for years hidden away from the world?

Jewellery that never sees the light of day but jewellery which you would never be parted from

The pre-loved jewellery which we own may no longer be in style or just not be to our personal taste anymore. But It remains part of our heritage and is symbolic of our past life story reflecting our family history, love, and loss, for these reasons and many more we will never be parted from it

Through restyling work, I can create a beautiful new piece of jewellery for you using the stones and metal where possible from your existing pieces of pre-loved jewellery. It may be an individual piece that you would like to have restyled or you may like to combine the gemstones from a number of pieces to create one stunning new piece of jewellery.

The pictures below show a beautiful ring and stunning platinum earrings that I designed and made for a client using the diamonds and some of the gold from a collection of unworn rings.

It may involve combining the gemstones from a number of pieces of jewellery

I will Initially assess your jewellery in terms of its condition and the practicality of reusing its gemstones or metal in a new design. I will listen closely to your specific needs and any concerns that you may have about the process.

Restyling work can result in using your gemstones in a totally new design or more simply taking action to make a piece wearable again maybe by securely remounting the gemstones or by making minor alterations to bring the unworn piece back to life.

It is always interesting to meet clients who bring pieces to me for restyling. The varying array of jewellery which is shown to me is fascinating.

Each piece of jewellery which comes to me for restyling has it own individual story

The ring below was created for a client from a pre-loved ring left to her by her Mother. My client explained to me that her Mother loved jewellery and she had develped a good eye for it over the years and collected some nice pieces. Her Mother inparticually liked fne gem stones and while on holiday had seen a diamond and sappire ring in a second hand jewellery shop window, she bought the ring and and enjoyed waering it for many years.

The photographs below show what was the original ring after I had taken the sapphire and diamonds out of it, the designs for the new ring, and the new ring in the process of being made.

My client said to me that she felt awful because her Mother had left her such a lovely ring but she really was not terribly keen on it as it was not her style of jewellery . I worked with my client on a new ring design

that would refected her own individual style. Then I removed the diamonds and the sapphire from the original ring so that they could be set in the new ring design.

The rusult is that my client now has a new piece of jewellery that has a strong link to her Mother and she can enjoy wearing the beautiful sappire and diamonds which her Mother choese all thoughs years ago.

I used six diamonds of differrent sizes taken from two ring which had lain unworn for years. Then desined and made a new ring

Take six diamonds

using the six diamonds in a simple but stylish mount made from 18ct yellow gold giving the beautiful diamonds a new lease of life.

My aim is to give your pre-loved jewellery a new lease of life.

once it is restyled It will become part of your life story while still retaining its precious link to your past.
