Wedding rings

Historically the giving of a wedding ring

represents the everlasting unbroken

circle of perpetual love

The design of a wedding ring can take many forms, from the pure simplicity of a plain gold band to more complex designs

the unbroken circle that a ring creates still remains a modern-day symbol of the commitment that couples have for each other

Made by me for a couple who love the sea and the outdoor life. They got engaged on a mountain top in Wales and married on a paradise beach in Mauritius.

I designed the shape of the Wave Wedding ring to reflect my client’s passion for the ocean. It also has a number of hidden meanings within the design which are personal to my clients. for example, the number of small diamonds used represented the number of years that my couple had been together

The finished wedding ring has huge emotional significance to the couple

The stunning Marquise cut diamond which they chose was a shape that had been dear to their hearts for many years. The images below give a sense of the design development of the ring from my initial sketches through to my hand carving a wax model for the ring to be cast from.

The ring design is shaped to sit perfectly with an engagement ring set with an oval cut diamond

I worked with my clients on a previous project to make their engagement ring. They returned to me and asked me to make a wedding ring featuring marquise diamonds. They wanted to use marquise diamond to reflect the design of the

under-bezel of the engagement ring. It was important to my clients that the two rings sat together without a gap. The finished ring sits perfectly with its partner to spectacular effect.

would you like to use part of another piece of jewellery in your wedding ring?

A client came to me with some lovely old cut diamonds with individual characteristics which his Grandmother had left to him. Many years before she had made jewellery and had set the diamonds into the piece which she later left to her grandson. He asked me to create a simple wedding ring design for his bride-to-be, using the diamonds from his family ring. I set the diamonds into a beautifully simple platinum band. The addition of the diamonds which were by no means identical in shape or size added a unique extra meaning to the finished wedding band and looked stunning.
