Julia is a very skilled designer who puts a great deal of patience and effort into ensuring that the end result is perfect. So invested is she in the success of each project that her reaction at the big reveal is often as passionate as her clients. At every step of the process, in the build-up until long after the finished project has been finalized, she keeps in regular close contact and makes sure that any

required adjustment is well thought through and discussed at length. The engagement ring which she made for us was simply perfect and inspired my brother-in-law to go with Julia for his proposal too. My sister-in-law adores her ring just as much.

A tale of two pre-loved rings which I restyled

Two rings were given to me by my mother many years ago.  They had originally belonged to my mothers’ two great-aunts. At that point, she wasn't that emotionally attached to them and so she gave the rings to me and said  I could sell them. They weren't of any significance or life-altering value, so I kept them thinking that one day in the future, they'd be more attractive for resale.  I'd had them for some years just in a drawer and had done nothing with them. 

Talking to Julia a friend of a close friend,  I happened to mention the rings one of which was a small diamond and ruby engagement ring, and the other an engagement ring with a variety of diamonds of varying sizes.  Both ring’s were probably from the turn of the last century and had belonged to women of no ostentatious means.

It was at this point that Julia introduced me to the concept of remodeling pre-loved jewellery. I was really excited about this prospect and could see that we could indeed do something really exciting and maybe, as my mother's 75th birthday was looming, we could look to doing an element of recycling and generate an entirely new journey for the rings.

 

Julia couldn't have been more helpful and her creative input was immediate, enthusiastic, and frankly astonishing.  With her wonderfully creative mind, she generated a selection of artistic options from which to choose and I honestly couldn't have been more delighted with the final design choice which she helped me make based on my budget.  

Julia and I communicated throughout the process and Julia finally delivered the wonderful pendant which is stunning.  I gave it to my mother for her birthday and she was blown away by what had been done to the two rings she had originally given up on and intended to sell. 

She wears the pendant with pride and joy and never misses a moment to let people know the story of how it was created.  I'll admit to accepting lots of brownie points, which really belong to Julia!!

The two ring’s journey through generations of our family will now continue. Julia has made this possible with her stunning design, technical skills and her vision for producing something wonderful.

Julia has designed and made high-quality jewellery for me in the past which I have been extremely pleased with. For this reason, I returned to her again for this project and I am not disapointed.

Resizing diamond rings

I asked Julia to resize and restore a couple of my beautiful gold and diamond rings. They are very precious to me as one is my mum's engagement ring and the other is my grandmother's engagement ring, both have passed away

I have been wearing them for many years on the ring finger of my right hand. They were both wearing thin and I needed to change the finger I was wearing them on due to a joint problem.

Julia was very empathetic and understood the emotional attachment I have with the rings which made me feel very comfortable leaving them with her. She resized the rings beautifully and also built up the gold which had worn thin. 

The rings look like new rings now and were returned promptly and sparkling!  I would recommend Julia for this type of work, she is very reasonably priced and understands her clients well. Thank you! Hopefully, these rings will be passed on to my daughter for many more years of pleasure.

Design and making an engagement ring

Julia designed and hand-crafted the ring that sealed my engagement to my fiancée. She began by discussing in detail the initial design brief and ideas with us (my soon-to-be-fiancée being also part of the process), then presented us with a variety of designs that creatively reflected that discussion. Building designs around a main diamond that I had previously sourced.

I know that she would have then reflected any modifications we might have wanted, but we were so blown away by one of her original designs that we simply chose it unmodified! The design fused a classic art Deco look with a sleek modern aesthetic. 

Julia also sourced some additional flanking diamonds, in a very rare Trapezoid cut, that complemented my own diamond perfectly.

When the ring was completed we were both delighted with the final outcome: the design was as stunning as we had expected, whilst the execution and workmanship were also flawless. It elicited much praise and admiration from our friends (and not to mention plenty of envy from not-so-friends!). In summary, I would absolutely recommend Julia to anyone who wants beautiful and truly unique engagement rings.

Over the years I have inherited a collection of rings which have remained unworn as they were too small or too, or just not my style. But they were family pieces each with memories of much-loved family members and I was reluctant to let go of them, so they have remained hidden away in a drawer.

Julia introduced me to the idea of restyling and over several meetings she respectfully gained an understanding of my likes and dislikes and thoughtfully created a new design using my existing pieces.

I now have a unique and beautiful new ring, that contains the gold and the diamonds from my old rings. The new ring reflects the style that I will wear and also retains a link with my much-loved Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt. Thank you, Julia

Pearl restringing

I own an exquisite three-row pearl choker with a round cluster clasp. The pearls mean a lot to me particularly because they were given to me on my twenty-first birthday by my late father. After a while, the pearls broke. I had the pearls restrung on two previous occasions and in both cases, the pearls did not lie smoothly on my neck and the strings tangled.

I approached Julia and was very surprised when before stringing she recommended a measuring and fitting appointment. We agreed a very reasonable price and following a second fitting Julia completed the task.

 I am absolutely delighted with the result and now wear my pearls with confidence.

Julia is undoubtedly a craftsman and her professional warm pleasant manner contributes to her services.  I would certainly recommend Julia to anyone; she is undoubtedly an expert in her field.
